According to a press release from the Huron County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 2:36 p.m. to Rubicon Township near the intersection of Ruppel Road and M-25 following a report of a tractor rollover. Sheriff Kelly Hanson confirmed that a passerby discovered Weiss pinned under his LS loader tractor, which lacked a protective cab. Despite the rapid response of first responders, Weiss was pronounced dead at the scene.

Firefighters from Port Hope and Harbor Beach, along with personnel from Eastern Huron Ambulance and the Huron County Medical Examiner’s Office, worked diligently to free Weiss from under the overturned tractor. Sheriff Hanson noted that a preliminary investigation suggested a medical emergency may have contributed to the crash, though the exact circumstances are still under review.
